A highly experienced and competent teacher of English as a foreign language with more than 22 years in the industry. I developed my skills as a TEFL teacher teaching general English to children, teenagers and adults and eventually moved into teaching English for Specific Purposes on a one-to-one basis and online. I soon became a specialist in developing and writing bespoke courses for specialist subjects, such as UK Law but at lower levels. In 2009, I became a Cambridge examiner for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS Examination) and have continued to examine to the present day. I have worked with both young children, general English students and professional business people. As well as an IELTS examiner, I prepare students for various other English examinations including FCE, CAE, CPE as well as TOEIC and TOEFL.

Additional Information

I am involved in fundraising for several charities providing help and support to children who have been diagnosed with cancer and leukemia and their families. The charities I am particularly involved in include CLIC Sargent and the Bramble Yellow Oncology Fund at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. Many years ago, I qualified as a teacher teaching English as a foreign language. I still actively teach but now I voluntarily teach French and German to young adults who have long term illnesses and are unable to go to school so that they are able to keep up with their school work. This is something I enjoy and will continue to do so as long as I am able
