Get ready for the hottest event of the summer! The 2024 Dongguan Reading Festival, coinciding with the South China Book Festival, is set to captivate book lovers from August 16-20. With events spanning 33 towns and districts, the festival promises an exciting blend of literature, culture, and creativity.
Furthermore, the 5th BIGGER Art Book Fair (Dongguan) is coming to Nancheng from August 15-20, as part of the 2024 South China Book Festival. This highly anticipated fair will turn the pages of creativity, connecting artists and creators from across the globe through the power of art and books.
1+10+18" Format
This year's festival will feature a unique "1+10+18" format. The main book fair in Dongguan Civil Service Center, along with 10 themed book sales zones and 18 distinctive sub-venues, will showcase a variety of activities. From bookshops and community centers to art galleries and cultural parks, the festival will transform Dongguan into a city-wide celebration of reading.

The festival focuses on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, featuring classic literature exhibitions, photo tours, and essay contests. Additionally, it celebrates 20 years of the Dongguan Reading Festival with special exhibits, nostalgic displays, and digital reading platforms, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between people, books, and the city.

Two major book fairs
The Dongguan Book Fair and the BIGGER Art Book Fair (Dongguan) will be the main attractions. The Dongguan Book Fair, held at the Dongguan Civil Service Center, will cover 5,000 square meters, blending themes of technology, manufacturing, art toys and cultural trends. The BIGGER Art Book Fair will introduce global design concepts and creative books, offering a fresh perspective on urban reading.

Targeting Dongguan's youthful energy, the festival will host the 19th "Summer of Animation" brand events, including 3D Journey to the West exhibits and interactive workshops. With a focus on classic literature and modern animation, these activities promise a fun and educational experience.
