The first of its kind in the country! Hydrogen energy two-wheelers are undergoing trial operation in Dongguan! Zero fuel consumption and zero electricity consumption.

Recently, the first batch of 50 hydrogen energy vehicles in Dongguan have been officially put into operation, making Dongguan the first city in China to achieve large-scale commercial deployment of hydrogen energy vehicles and oxygen supply in the field of instant delivery.

It is reported that this two-wheeler uses hydrogen as its energy source and innovatively adopts advanced technologies such as in-station methanol hydrogen production, water-cooled hydrogen power system, solid-state metal hydrogen storage and vehicle networking. With a single hydrogen refueling, it can travel up to 80 kilometers. Its only emission is water, and the vehicle can significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions, achieving truly zero-carbon travel.

 

The first batch of two-wheeled vehicles in the methanol-to-hydrogen two-wheeler energy operation project, centered around the Zhongtang methanol-to-hydrogen and hydrogen refueling integrated station, will create a demonstration application scenario for hydrogen energy two-wheelers in the food delivery sector. This is the first purely commercial hydrogen energy application scenario in Dongguan. According to the plan, 200 hydrogen energy two-wheelers will be deployed in Dongguan by the end of 2025.

 

The vice chairman of Qingdao Yangqing Group Co., Ltd. stated that this project has significant advantages in terms of safety, economy, and operational efficiency. In the early stage of the project, starting from Zhongtang, 1,000 vehicles will be deployed in batches in the surrounding areas and the central urban area, as well as the Songshan Lake sub-center. The company will also work with ecological partners to promote the deployment of 10,000 vehicles. "Dongguan is an important manufacturing base for two-wheelers and has significant advantages in sales, operation and maintenance, and business operations. By integrating hydrogen energy technology with it, we hope to use Dongguan as a starting point to promote it nationwide," the vice chairman said.

 

The mass production release and deployment of hydrogen energy two-wheelers this time is an important step for Dongguan to promote green and low-carbon travel and accelerate the development of the hydrogen energy industry. It is also a vivid practice of "government guidance, enterprise leadership, and government-enterprise collaborative innovation". The pioneering and trial efforts in the field of green transportation mark a solid step forward in the development of Dongguan's hydrogen energy industry.

 

In addition, the leading enterprise of the Dongguan Hydrogen Energy Industry Alliance - the Energy Group - has built two hydrogen refueling stations and actively participates in the construction of a diversified hydrogen storage and transportation system. It persists in exploring the commercial industrial layout of hydrogen energy in multiple fields such as power supply, transportation, energy storage, and industry.

 

Introduction:

The hydrogen energy two-wheeler is equipped with a hydrogen source in the form of a solid-state metal hydrogen storage cylinder, and is highly integrated with a small fuel cell stack and a heat exchange system to form a water-cooled hydrogen power system, providing hydrogen energy for the vehicle. The hydrogen storage cylinder adopts low-pressure metal adsorption hydrogen storage technology, ensuring the safety of hydrogen supply for the entire vehicle. The hydrogen fuel cell system innovatively uses water-cooling technology and a closed cathode design, with a hydrogen utilization rate of over 97%, significantly improving system stability and operational lifespan. The hydrogen energy two-wheeler has an average hydrogen consumption of less than 2g per kilometer. Each vehicle is equipped with two hydrogen storage cylinders, offering a cruising range of over 80km. It can also carry a spare hydrogen cylinder to further extend the cruising range. Compared to traditional electric two-wheelers, hydrogen energy two-wheelers have advantages such as safety and reliability, zero carbon emissions, strong cruising range, and cost-effectiveness. They eliminate the fire hazard associated with battery charging from the source and can be widely applied in various medium and short-distance riding scenarios such as food delivery, express logistics, and personal travel. With the support of a methanol-to-hydrogen supply system, hydrogen vehicles and hydrogen sources can be safely and efficiently provided, ensuring the market operation of the vehicles.
