Today, Huayang Lake stands as a testament to sustainable development—a sprawling 20-square-kilometer wetland park celebrated as “Dongguan’s Green Lung.” Its name, Huayang (“Splendid Sunshine”), now reflects its vibrant spirit.

Step into a world of serene beauty. The lake’s crystal-clear waters mirror the sky, while lotus flowers blush pink in summer, creating a scene straight from a classical Chinese painting. Over 300 plant species thrive here, from swaying reeds to fragrant osmanthus trees, attracting egrets, kingfishers, and migratory birds that paint the skies with life.  

Wander along the 15-kilometer lakeside trail, where wooden boardwalks wind through marshes and willow trees whisper in the breeze. Rent a kayak to glide across the tranquil lake, or cycle under canopies of greenery—every turn offers a new vista. Don’t miss the iconic Moonlight Tower* where sunset transforms the water into a golden tapestry.
