It is understood that there are about 110 strawberry growers in Dongguan. Citizens can taste the fresh and sweet fruit in towns around Dongguan. In terms of the price, fresh strawberries cost about 70RMB per kilogram, which is basically the same as last year.
Banana and Vegetable Research Institute (香蕉蔬菜研究所)
In the Banana Vegetable Research Institute, the first batch of strawberries this year have ripened. There are plenty of cream strawberries and chocolate strawberries in the field. The prices is 70RMB per kilogram and 60RMB per kilogram respectively.
It is open around the clock on weekend and holidays and closed from 11:00 to 14:00 from Monday to Friday

Wangyou Valley Strawberry Plantation (忘忧谷草莓园)
There were strawberries of different colors — red and white in the Wangyou Valley Strawberry Plantation in Humen, as well as fresh small tomatoes. They are full and round, looking very cute. The strawberries come in a great many varieties, including "Sweet smelling No.7"(妙香七) and "White Angel"(白色天使).
The strawberry field area is over 3,333 square meters, and the picking period is until April next year.

Huiyi Seasons Plantation (汇一四季果园)
In Huiyi Seasons Plantation, the strawberries are glowing red, which really make visitors mouth water. The main varieties are Sweet smelling No.3 and No.7 strawberries. The area is more than 2,000 square metres, which is estimated to grow around 7,500 kilos strawberries.

Weiwei Milk Strawberry Plantation (微微牛奶草莓园)
Weiwei Milk Strawberry Plantation is located in Gaobu town, where the strawberries are divided into ordinary strawberry, milk strawberry and chocolate strawberry, which is popular among Dongguan citizens.

Nancheng Shuilianshan Strawberry Plantation (南城水濂山草莓园)
Nancheng Shuilianshan Strawberry Plantation mainly produces milk strawberries, which are especially fresh and sweet. Visitors can also visit the botanical garden and Shuilianshan Forest Park to breathe the fresh air.

But how to find the best tasting strawberry?
First, don't pick strawberries with unusual shape. The appearance of a normal strawberry is heart-shaped. Secondly, when selecting fresh strawberries, make sure they are firm, smooth and glossy with fine fluff on its surface. Be careful to pick and put it in your basket gently, or it will not be a strawberry but strawberry jam by the time you reach home.
